I'm so happy to be finally posting this project, it's been a tale of waffling on decisions!  I have had this dresser built since July, but I could not decide on the finish.  I have been wanting to build a dresser for my little 2 year old princess.  I … [Read more...]

Hi!  I'd love for you to follow me on Pinterest Her Tool Belt  and if you love instagram, you can keep up with me there too! My friend Mindi My Love 2 Create put out a challenge to come up with a project that uses materials that are repurposed, and I had just the building supplies to accomplish that challenge!  It is an easy way to add a little farmhouse style. A few … [Read more...]

Octagon Rotating Bookshelf

August 6, 2015 by Amy 19 Comments

My kids love books, especially a good nighttime story or two.  We have been collecting books over the years and really need a functional and stylish place to store them.   They have overtaken my media center!  I've had my eye on the PBteen Revolving Bookcase for some time and decided that is the answer to my storage problem.   I planned to construct the bookshelf out of 3/4" … [Read more...]

Hi!  I'd love for you to follow me on Pinterest Her Tool Belt  and if you love instagram, you can keep up with me there too! My friend Jen Woodhouse put out a challenge for a project built using only one board, a 1" x 8" x 8' board.  At first I thought sweet, this will be a blast... Then as the time approaches builders block sets in and I start getting nervous. … [Read more...]

DIY Kubb Set

July 2, 2015 by Amy 1 Comment

Last summer my friend introduced me to Kubb (pronounced Koob).  It is a fun strategic Swedish lawn game, with it's viking origin some have nicknamed it 'viking chess'.  It's a great game for summer BBQ's and family reunions.  We've enjoyed some intense games of Kubb on the lawn,   and on the lake beach.   Each surface can add a different advantage/disadvantage.  One great thing … [Read more...]

DIY Wood Tool Box Caddy

June 25, 2015 by Amy 3 Comments

Today's plans are for another style of planter box mason jar centerpiece that I used for the lemonade party.  The first planter box was the square version, this one is for a rustic tool box caddy style.  Since the 4th of July is coming up, I thought I'd use it for patriotic decorations.  An easy update with painted mason jars and white flowers. How to Build a Wood Tool Box … [Read more...]

DIY Lemonade Stand with Wheels

June 13, 2015 by Amy 21 Comments

Lemonade stands have made quite the comeback in the last few years, they're not just for kids anymore!  They make a fun drink station at weddings and parties.  While I was building the Party Station last month, I couldn't help but think that it would make a great base to a lemonade stand with a few extra perks. The party station has: Tons of storage (drawers and a huge … [Read more...]

June 2, 2015 by Amy 74 Comments

Hi!  I'd love to for you to follow me on Pinterest Her Tool Belt  and if you love instagram, you can keep up with me there too! It's almost officially summer, and I needed to find a way to keep the kids outdoors and having fun.  So why not build a play set with a clubhouse?  I know I would have loved a clubhouse when I was a kid (that wasn't made from a cardboard box :-) … [Read more...]

Easy Mid-Century Modern Side Table

May 14, 2015 by Amy 20 Comments

Build this table in 15 minutes and the only tool required is a drill!   I am participating in a one tool challenge, and the only tool that can be used is a drill.   Originally I thought, no problem this will be easy.  Then when it came down to it, every project I thought of needed wood cut...GREAT :-( .  Then I remembered the hardware stores carry edge-glued round boards, … [Read more...]

Party Station

May 11, 2015 by Amy 25 Comments

Summer parties are about to get so much cooler!  We like to have family parties during the summer with fun games and lots of great food.  Ryobi Nation and Woodworkers Journal combined their efforts to design and build a Party Station.  The fun part about this party station is that you can easily add upgrades to make it the Ultimate Party Station for you.  I had the opportunity … [Read more...]
